Founded by Dustin Day, a Birmingham native and graduate of Auburn University’s Building Science program, Live Oak was built on both hands-on field experience and large-scale construction expertise. Before launching the company, Dustin worked with two of the nation’s leading general contracting firms, contributing to multifamily developments, medical facilities, and high-density mixed-use projects.
That experience shaped a deep understanding of complex construction, the systems required to execute it well, and the value of a strong owner–builder relationship. It reinforced the belief that successful projects are built not just with skill and structure, but with trust, transparency, and alignment from day one.
After relocating his family to Baldwin County, Dustin founded Live Oak with a clear vision: to combine large-scale construction expertise with a highly personalized building experience.
